Kübarakoda on kostüümi- ja
tekstiiliajaloolase ELVIRA LIIVER´i peakatete valmistamise meistrikoda.
Kübarakoda sai alguse Tallinna
raekoja keldrist, kus 1992.aasta Volbriööl avas uksed väike pop-up poeke
„Tallinna mütsid ja mütsikesed“. Erinevatest sajanditest inspiratsiooni saanud kübarad
ja mütsid võeti linnarahva poolt väga soojalt vastu ning nüüdseks on peakatteid
tehtud juba üle 30 aasta.
Unikaalsed peakatted valmivad
koostöös Mari Saguriga ja õmblemiseks kasutatakse vaid naturaalseid materjale.
Vildist kübarate tegemisel ja
mütside õmblemisel inspireerib autorit keskaeg ja 20.sajandi 20-30.aastate vorm
ja vanadel
fotodel jäädustatud stiilsed tallinlannad.
Kübarakojas puhastatakse ja vormitakse ümber vanu kübaraid, tehakse
tellimustöid ning antakse asjalikku nõu peakatete valimisel.
Meistrikojas valminud mütsid ja kübarad „kõnnivad“
ringi maailma erinevates riikides otsekui
Tallinna saadikud.

THE HAT WORKSHOP
... was
established by the costume and textile historian
ELVIRA LIIVER who specialised
in textile conservation. Ever since its foundation in 1993, the millinery
has become well known for making old-style hats with a modern twist. Its
timeless and elegant designs attract customers from all over the world and have
captivated the Estonian women.
The felt hats are hand-crafted by Elvira herself by
using authentic wooden hat blocks
that create intricate and glamorous shapes. In her creative work, she is
mainly inspired by the style of the Middle Ages and the casual, tender and feminine
fashion of the 1920s and 1930s.The unique headwear is
often designed and manufactured together with Mari Sagur and only natural materials are used.
In addition to selling hats for women and men, the hat workshop
also provides its customers with services such
as cleaning and remodelling old hats. Personalised orders for special occasions
are also accepted.
